Top 10 industries on LinkedIn 2020
It’s that time of year again when we look at the top 10 industries on LinkedIn globally and in the UK, and it’s interesting to see what’s changed.
Looking at the top 10 industries globally on LinkedIn, the top 3 industries haven’t changed in order from 2019 to 2020, although the number of users on LinkedIn has increased to 722 Million.
Retail has gone up one place, as has Accounting.
Higher Education has jumped three places to join the top 10, knocking out Marketing and Advertising which was in 10th place in 2019, but has now dropped two places to 12th.
Education has dropped one place as has Computer Software, whilst Financial Services remains in 6th place and Automotive remains in 9th.
Interesting, looking at the UK, six of the top 10 industries remain in the same place as last year – Construction remains at number one, Hospital & Health Care remain at number 2, Financial Services remain at 5, Education Management remains at 6, Government Administration remains at 7 and Accounting remains in 8th place.
Information Technology jumps up one place, as does Health, Wellness & Fitness.
Retail has dropped one place, and Higher Education has dropped out of the top 10 into 12th place and has been replaced by Marketing & Advertising.
The statistics continue to bust the myth that LinkedIn is full of recruiters. Staffing and Recruitment comes in 61st place globally, only up one place from last year, whilst in the UK it has dropped from 26th place to 30th!
