How to stop seeing that annoying person’s updates on LinkedIn
I bet if I asked you if you had someone that annoys you on LinkedIn with too many posts, or too salesy or inappropriate posts someone would immediately spring to mind – together with a mental grrr about them as your hackles come up and you think less than positive thoughts about them, their personal and business brand.
If it is a particular post that is annoying you and it keeps appearing on your homepage feed, you can choose to hide that post. To do this select the three dots on the top right-hand side of the post in question and in the dropdown menu select Hide this post.
This will stop you seeing that particular post, but it won’t hide further posts from the person in question and it won’t stop that post appearing in your feed if one of your connections chooses to share it.
If you want to stop seeing every update from a particularly annoying connection without disconnecting them, you can unfollow them by clicking on the three black dots on the top right-hand side of one of their posts and in the dropdown menu select Unfollow XXX (where XXX is that person’s name ?)
You can also unfollow a connection via their profile by looking at them and then selecting “More…” on the top right-hand side of their profile and then Unfollow.
The person you are unfollowing will not be notified that you have unfollowed them so don’t worry! But they might see that you have looked at their profile, unless you went anonymous on LinkedIn first ?
Hopefully this will help you to make your homepage a much more relevant and useful experience, but if you simply want to disconnect that connection you could always remove them instead (here’s how).
