How to search LinkedIn for the best posts for you (without the noise)
On a bad day opening LinkedIn can feel exhausting. Your home page feed might be flooded with generic updates, endless humblebrags, and AI posts you never asked to see.
Why doesn’t your homepage show you what you want to see! Instead of letting a random algorithm choose what you see, you can take control in loads of different ways!
With this simple search trick, you can easily filter out the noise and find high-quality posts you seek.
You can easily see what your first level connections are talking about and even filter it by word or theme if you wish. On the same track you can even find what anyone has posted about too!
Simply use the post search! The steps to make it work on desktop / laptop are:
- Left click inside the search box top lefthand side corner and then hit the enter key. This opens up the search across all of LinkedIn.
- Select the button labelled “Posts” which will then turn green to show you are now searching posts. You will see some simple filters across the top of the screen that you can easily use.
- Even better is to click the all filters option on the right (see the image below for the cornucopia of goodies inside!). You can then search to see just your first level connections, dates, content types, posts from an individual and more.
- If there is a particular “thing” you want to find within posts, if you type the word or words in the search box top lefthand side, because you are now searching posts it will find all the posts that contain that word or words for you too!
Simple ways to see what others are talking about and something we cover even on our most basic of courses but many people miss!
The search is great but even greater is how you can use this to find more interesting people, posts, content and more – that is where the fun starts.
