How to add, change or remove an email address on your profile.

This is an update on an old blog we wrote as LinkedIn has changed the format of how to add, change or remove an email address on your profile.

It’s a really simple process, just follow these instructions:

  • Go to “Settings and Privacy” under your photo on the top right-hand side of your profile.
  • Click on “Account” and under “Login and Security” click on Change next to “Email addresses”, see below:

  • You then have the option to remove an email address, add a new address or make an existing email address your primary one (which is the one that will appear on your profile).

It is always a good idea to have your work email address as your primary one that you show your level one connections, after all LinkedIn is a professional networking site.

Your personal email address can be used as a secondary address (hidden behind the scenes) on your account so friends and family will still find your profile if they import their address book. Not to mention you can still log into your account should your corporate email services ever stop or you unexpectedly get asked to leave and LinkedIn goes up your priority list!
