Ever wished for a proofreader for your LinkedIn posts?
The good news it’s here! The bad news only if you have Premium
LinkedIn is always changing, mostly good but they make the occasional misstep as well, but the new proofreader is a hit for sure!
We’re sure we’re not the only ones that have written a LinkedIn update and hit post to spot the typo in it the moment it appears on our screen as published – face palm moment but historically you could edit the post using the three grey dots on the post top right and hide the evidence with a quick edit but now there is another option.
Released four days ago we spotted it on LinkedIn today for the first time in the post box, a new button “proofreader” in the bottom left-hand corner, so of course we had to explore.
Now our James is prone to the odd typo in his posts as you might have spotted so he was the ideal guinea pig for this one 😊
Write your post then you can hit proofreader and it gives you three options:
Review – Fixes spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
Shorten – Makes your post more concise while preserving its meaning
Clarify – Makes your post easier to read and understand
If you pick the option that suits you LinkedIn will highlight the suggested changes in the following ways:
Edits – Suggestions appear within the body text
Removed text – Shown with a strikethrough
With each change you have a choice to accept the change (and it amends your text), dismiss (reverts to your original) and even provides a thumbs up or down to help LinkedIn improve this service going forwards.
